Background
The Warringah Freeway Upgrade and Western Harbour Tunnel aims to improve the way people travel across Sydney Harbour.
CPBDTI JV engaged pitt&sherry as temporary works designer for the $1.2B, Warringah Freeway Upgrade, which forms part of the Western Harbour Tunnel enabling works.
What we did
The project involves widening of the existing freeway, upgrades to on-off ramps and construction of additional bridges.
pitt&sherry’s scope has focussed on Structural and Geotechnical engineering including:
- Sign gantry relocations
- Temporary carparks
- Temporary bridge propping
- Temporary service supports
- Underground service checks (flexible and concrete pipes)
- Temporary sign structures
- Temporary ramps and piling platforms
- Temporary retaining walls
